What is a Computer Virus?

By definition: A dangerous computer program with the characteristic feature of being able to generate copies of itself, and thereby spreading. Additionally most computer viruses have a destructive payload that is activated under certain conditions.

New viruses come out every day. Some are cute little nondestructive programs, while others can really mess up your computer. Most viruses are spread through email, infected websites and internet downloads.
